Cute picture but WTH, late night news desk?
Sometimes the trade-offs between compelling art and its associated headline produce screwy homepage headline dominance. One of the side-effects of asking editors to visually compose our top-story layouts while also promoting in-house journalism.
(A second side-effect is sometimes the little weather ‘badge’ plays nicely with lead photos. In this case, newly hatched baby sea turtles decide where to crawl based on the brightest light source. I’d like to think this one’s trying to choose between its own sunset and Redmond’s partly cloudy moon. Go to the sea, baby turtle!)
I need to not post on my decently read Tumblr once I’ve poured a glass of something for the evening. I leave this up as a reminder to myself.
