Avalanche Skier POV Helmet Cam Burial & Rescue in Haines, Alaska on Vimeo (via Vimeo) Excellent example of why I own an AvaLung pack for even my infrequent backcountry skiing in a ‘sweeper’ role. (Perhaps not necessarily why I take it to work, though.) The write-up on the Vimeo page does a great job emphasizing how amazing it is they dug out the guy in less than five minutes—reality is that if you go in a slide, you don’t get found in time even with the right gear.
Also, the unintentional camera work is awesome.
