I first dubbed Steinski in junior high, off a late-night New York radio show repeating classic hip-hop on Philly’s big-market general rock station. Listened to it until the tape broke, and even did some junior high gym-class aerobics routines to it.
As I noted on Twitter, “@nialler9 put Steinski’s Payoff mix on a muxtape (nialler9.muxtape) and suddenly my predilection for mashups makes so much more sense.”
